Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast™
Miracast® enables seamless display of multimedia content — including high-resolution pictures, high-definition video content, live television shows and sports, and other copy-protected premium content — between Wi-Fi devices, even if a Wi-Fi network is not available. Miracast is an industry-wide solution, allowing technology to work across device types and vendors. Connections are easy to set up and use because Miracast devices choose the appropriate settings automatically. Miracast offers the following capabilities:
- Projection of content from mobile devices to automobile infotainment systems
- Sharing of a laptop screen with a conference room projector in real-time
- Streaming of HD and 4K Ultra HD movies from a tablet to an HD television
- Showing pictures from a smartphone, computer, or tablet on a large screen television
- Support for a wide range of audio/video formats to extend battery life in mobile devices
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Location™
Wi-Fi Location™ networks and devices work together to deliver meter-level indoor location accuracy without the need for separate, location-based infrastructure or costly maintenance. Wi-Fi Location also allows self-locating access points (APs) to establish accurate indoor locations and enable 6 GHz standard power applications. The following capabilities are available through Wi-Fi Location:
- Client devices can determine their location relative to the broadcasting APs without sharing any information, providing great accuracy without compromising privacy
- Enables the creation of new, feature-rich applications and services
- Allows for tracking high-value mobile equipment
- Improves network management by pinpointing where troubleshooting and maintenance is needed
- Enables geo-fencing by creating virtual perimeters that trigger actions when devices move in or out of the boundary
